Paid beta guide

How prepaid beta minutes work

After Hours Voice uses small prepaid minute packs so testers can try the voice room without a subscription.

Step 1: Checkout

The current tester pack is $4.99 for 15 prepaid minutes. Checkout happens through Stripe. After payment, Stripe redirects back to the private voice app with a checkout session ID so the app can claim and store the minute balance.

Step 2: Paid access token

When payment is claimed, the app creates a paid access token. The browser stores that token locally so the user does not have to paste it every time. If the browser storage is cleared, support can help restore access using the checkout email and session record.

Step 3: Short time reservations

When a voice session starts, the app reserves a short block of prepaid time. This protects the live API cost while the call is open. If the user stops early and the browser finishes cleanly, unused reserved seconds are returned to the balance.

Why duplicate tabs can look confusing

Opening the voice room in two tabs can reserve two blocks of time or create an active-session warning. The simplest testing habit is to use one tab, press Stop before closing it, and refresh the account balance before starting again.

When to contact support

Email [email protected] if payment succeeded but minutes do not appear, if microphone access fails, if the paid token is missing, or if a session appears stuck after the browser closes. Include the checkout email and approximate purchase time.
